What is FFC? It is simply a framework that helps founders form and maintain a peer support group for at least 10 months. Founders learn from each other, and with growing trust, they can hold each other accountable and provide emotional support. After all, being a founder and running a startup can be tough and lonely.

Nobody. All organisers and facilitators are volunteers. We are not for profit, not for salary. For expenses such as event catering we rely on sponsors. The Auckland launch is underwritten by an anonymous individual unless a sponsor steps up. Foundners self-match until they have 4 or 5. Then the organisers connect facilitators until mutual compatibility is established including time and place. The founders and the facilitator of a group sign up to a group charter. All discussions are confidential. Facilitators do not report back to organisers, except on group dynamics. This is your SAFE SPACE! We believe that physical presence in the same room is essential the trust to build in the FFC Groups to unlock the full benefits. We are launching in Auckland but hope to scale this model with others across New Zealand. So bear with us. Founders need to be resonably matched to be able to give and take as group members. Stage is a key marker. Also, external funding provides independent validation and a runway for durability of the group. Bootstrapping with validation revenue may be acceptable for some groups. |
